Story Map

This is a student created Story Map that is discussing some of the key details from the novel Jekyll and Hyde. Some of these key details include things like settings, the duality of man, and the story's structure. This helps students better understand the novel and allows the teacher to check for understanding.

Organizer

An organizer is a very useful tool for students when determining author's purpose when writing a story. It also asks students to consider real-life events that might have had an impact. I like that the organizer is cut-out, filled in, and glued down by the student creating a fun manipulative.

Student Annotations

Annotating writing is a key skill in a High School English classroom. It teaches students to focus on important details. Color coding the notes helps as well.

One-Pager

A One-Pager is a fun and creative way to attain a product from a student. Shakespeare can sometimes be confusing so a visual element can help guide understanding. Romeo & Juliet is a common read in Freshmen classrooms.
