About Me!

I have been teaching for over 10 years. I have taught adults, middle school, tutored elementary, and am now expanding my teaching practice to high school! So exciting! 😊

I attended Southern Polytechnic State University and earned a Bachelor's in Information Technology. I worked in IT for 10 years prior to becoming a teacher, then in 2008, I went to China on a study abroad trip and felt the call to teach. I came home and started volunteer teaching adults ESOL and loved it so much that I decided to change careers and become a teacher. I attended Kennesaw State University and earned my Master's in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) and while I still love the field of technology and all things computers (nerd alert!), I also love seeing that 'aha' moment and gleaning of understanding in my students when they accomplish a task! It is truly a wonderful feeling to bring my love of culture, accents, literature, language and technology into my classroom every day! 🤗

I am a native of Atlanta Georgia. I have two adult sons, five siblings, and a host of nieces and nephews! 🥰 In my spare time, I enjoy family gatherings, visiting with friends, listening to music, watching movies, singing in my church choir (looking forward to returning), reading great literature, making pottery, and traveling the world! My family and I are also embarking on a heritage project which is turning out to be extremely cool!!! Ask me and I will tell you all about it!

We are going to have a wonderful school year!
