The Ohlone Promise Scholarship helps address these issues by offering a two year, full-ride scholarship so that students can focus on their education, rather than their finances
This scholarship automatically pays for required tuition, books, and enrollment fees for a maximum of 60 units. The scholarship will not be distributed in cash. Students will be responsible for miscellaneous supplies and optional fees, such as: pens, notebooks, and scantrons; calculators, e-readers, laptops, and other electronic equipment; software, art supplies, lab goggles/aprons, and other non-textbook items.
Be a graduating high school student from one of the schools (John F. Kennedy)
Have a 2.0 minimum high school GPA
Complete the FAFSA (studentaid.gov) or CADAA (dream.csac.ca.gov)
Submit a letter of recommendation from a high school principal, teacher, or counselor
Write two short essays
The Ohlone Promise Scholarship will pay for a maximum of 60 units over two years at Ohlone College.
Recipients must meet a 2.0 minimum GPA and complete 15 units a semester to continue receiving the scholarship semester-to-semester.
Recipients must apply for FAFSA (studentaid.gov) or CADAA (dream.csac.ca.gov) by March 2 every year to continue receiving the scholarship (note: not qualifying for aid through FAFSA will not cause a recipient to lose the scholarship). If you are not eligible for the FAFSA or CADAA (Dream Act Application), please contact the Foundation office.
Recipients must meet with a counselor once per semester
Recipients must attend a mandatory Ohlone Promise orientation.
