Social Studies Units

Students learn about the different environments within the world. 2nd graders learn how people interact within those environments. 2nd graders gain an understanding of how particular events and new technologies helped to promote change in American history. Students distinguish the roles and responsibilities within the American government. The following topics are taught with many related sub topics aligned to Social Studies New Jersey Content Standards

Science Units


The learning experiences provided for students in 2nd grade engage them with fundamental questions about the world.

They are given the opportunity to investigate the way scientists do and to find answers to those questions. 2nd grade students have the opportunity to carry out scientific investigations. The following topics are taught with many related sub topics aligned to Next Generation Science Standards.
