General Information:

Turtle Lake Folders:

• Each student at Turtle Lake will have Turtle Lake Folder.  It is used to send papers to and from school.  Please check it and empty it regularly!

Communication:

Weekly Communication Sheets

• Each week, I will email out a Weekly Communication E-mail that states our learning topics, events, and any other important information. 

Email is the best way to contact me throughout the day: rebekka.vanoss@moundsviewschools.org   -- if there is an emergency, however, please contact the Turtle Lake office at 651-621-7700.

Parent Communication Meetings

• These conferences will be held throughout the school year.  Please plan to attend one conference in the fall and one conference in the winter/spring.  A Sign-Up link will be sent out prior to these meetings.

Daily Snack/Water Bottle:

• We will be having a snack time each afternoon. Please plan to send a small, peanut-free, healthy snack to school.  (No candy please!) Your child should be able to open their snack by themselves and should be able to finish it in about ten minutes

• A leakproof water bottle is also welcomed in our classroom to keep our brains and bodies focused and hydrated!

Birthdays:

• We love celebrating birthdays and have some special traditions in our classroom! Food treats are not allowed. There is no need to send anything, but if you would like to send a non-edible treat like a fun pencil that is okay. To avoid hurt feelings, students are not allowed to pass out birthday invitations at school.

Toys/ Smart Watches:

• Toys are not allowed, unless we are having a stuffed animal day as a reward or school spirit day. Those types of events will be communicated in the classroom newsletter. Please remind your child to keep toys and electronics safe at home. 

• If your child has a smart watch, please remind them of school expectations: no playing games, messaging, and calling people at school. Please refrain from messaging or calling your child during the school day. If there is a message that needs to be passed on to your child, please call the office.
