~ Appleton East High School for the play Cinderella
Please watch for information coming home with your child, and be sure to sign and return permission forms promptly.
Knowledge-a-thon: —
Knowledge-a-thon is the PTO's biggest fund raiser of the year. Please watch for this information to be coming home this January!
Mini Course Day: —
Mini Course Day will be taking place December 4. Thank you to all of the parents in the past who have signed up to lead a course: crocheting, Uno, Sequence, Dominoes, pipe cleaner decorations, popsicle stick snowflakes, fishing fun, kidstage, paper beads are just a few of the options the students will choose from. This cannot happen without your participation. Please ask if you have questions about this event/day. This will be a terrific day! Thank you!
Classroom Reward Party —
The students are working towards a reward party for their good behavior choices. Ask your student what our first reward party is going to be! Encourage your student to use body basics each day to have a safe, respectful and responsible day!
Assignment Notebook Expectations: —
Your student will complete an assignment notebook page at the end of each day of class. This is a good review of their day, and also gives you information about what they did in most subjects. Use this information to specifically ask your student questions about their day.
The expectation is for you to sign your students' assignment notebook each night, to acknowledge you are aware of what needs to be done, and that your student completed the homework assignments.
Also, this is a good tool to use for any notes: ie: student leaving early for appointments, questions, comments
Homework Expectations: —
You can expect homework each night of the week EXCEPT on Wednesday nights. Wednesday night will usually be only the required nightly 20 minutes of reading. The rest of the nights, please plan about a half hour for homework. This includes math review, language arts, science, or social studies. Homework will be a review of skills introduced and used in class.
If you have questions about homework, please ask your student first. They should know what is expected. If they aren't sure, please attach a note to the assignment or write a note in your student's assignment notebook.
