Welcome to

Mrs. Schrader's

 Classroom

My name is Courtney Schrader, and I was born and raised in Texas. After earning my Bachelor in Business Administration degree at Midwestern State University, I moved to Arizona, where I met and married my husband, Bryan, a retired Army Ranger. We have a son who also served in the Army and is currently seeking a degree in engineering, as well as a daughter who is in seventh grade. When our daughter was five, we decided to travel around the United States for 18 months, and I homeschooled her in kindergarten. That experience led me to fall in love with teaching. Upon our return to Texas, I volunteered at the public school my daughter attended from 1st-4th grade, became a substitute teacher for two school districts, and entered the West College of Education at Midwestern State University. I graduated in May 2019 with a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction degree and an EC-6 Teacher Certification and ESL Certification. Before graduation, I earned the Outstanding Graduate Woman award for the College of Education. I taught fourth-grade English Language Arts and Reading (ELAR) and Social Studies (SS) at Haynes Northwest Academy in WFISD until our family moved to Ohio, where I am currently homeschooling our daughter and online tutoring students receiving IEP services under the Jon Peterson Scholarship Program. I have eight years of experience working with children academically from pre-kindergarten to 12th grade.
