Elementary age children only need a maximum of 1-2 hours of "school"a day, on the days you choose to practice learning.
Talk to your child about what they want to be learning. Self directed learning will lead to more motivation and self discovery at this young age.
If possible, spend some time outside each day. Play is a very important part of the primaries learning. In our school classroom, we have "free play" or "choice time" at least twice a day. Students will reinforce many of the theories that we have learned about during our lessons into their free play.
Learning at home may look like chores, helping to bake, planting seeds, playing with siblings, reading with parents, coloring, crafting and much more.
Make learning meaningful by creating connections between your lived life and learning activities.
Be easy on yourself! These are stressful times for parents, the most important thing is creating a positive environment for the children.
