Volunteer in our classroom!

There will be numerous opportunities to volunteer in our classroom! We will be glad to welcome volunteers for classroom celebrations or just to help in the classroom and offer support. However, in order to volunteer, there are certain requirements to be fulfilled by New Hanover County Schools. 

To officially become a level 1 NHCS volunteer, you must complete the following steps which are all on the NHCS website.

1. View the volunteer orientation presentation.

2. Read the volunteer handbook.

3. Complete the volunteer orientation assessment with a score of 80% or higher.

4. Submit the volunteer application form to the front office. This application must be completed each year you want to volunteer.

5. *Only if you wish to become a Level 2 volunteer to be able to volunteer in a 1 on 1 setting with students*

Complete a background check application ($20 - valid for 3 years)
