Hi! I am Mrs. Ojeda! I am so excited to be your teacher this year for second grade! I am originally from Winston-Salem, NC. I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a Bachelors of Arts in Spanish and a Bachelors of Arts in English and a certification in professional writing. During my last semester of my undergraduate studies, I spent a semester living in the Dominican Republic studying Spanish and teaching English to children.
I love being a Codington Cougar! Since 2021, I have held various different roles at Codington Elementary. I began working in the front office and later transitioned to a teacher's assistant role for grades 1-5. I was inspired to pursue a teaching career! I obtained my Masters of Arts in Teaching Elementary Education degree from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in May of 2023. I am certified to teach grades K-6 in North Carolina. This will be my third year of teaching!
This school year I will allow my students to be confident and successful by providing them with high quality instruction and helping them to reach their academic, social and emotional goals. My teaching philosophy is to provide all students with the tools needed to meet their specific learning goals and to promote educational equity. I strive to educate my students with a holistic approach of teaching by supporting the whole child- not just their academic needs. My goal is to encourage students to see the beauty and strength in their differences which will allow them to be more confident and willing to take risks in their learning.
I am married and have two daughters who attend Codington Elementary. Elyse is in fifth grade and Elena is in second grade. I have two dogs- a boxer named Roscoe and a chihuahua named Taco. I love family time, cooking, travelling and coffee :)
