Mrs. Mauhay believes that all students are leaders who deserve to feel respected, valued, seen, and represented in their classroom community. Each of our students has individual strengths and needs. Part of my job as a teacher is to create communities that help students thrive based on their personal qualities. As the daughter of two teachers, education has always been central to my life. I love coming to work each day and collaborating with Weller's amazing students, families, and staff.
This is Sarah Mauhay's 11th year of teaching. She received her BA from Santa Clara University and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a double major in Psychology and Education. She then earned her Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and Masters in Education the following year.
Mrs. Mauhay has tutored and taught in 1st to 6th grade classrooms, and she loves getting to know the curriculums and students at each grade level. Other joys in her career have included co-creating the Weller Core Values program and serving on the district's Culture of We Equity Team. In 2024, Mrs. Mauhay was humbled to be a top five finalist for the NBC Bay Area All Star Teacher Award. When she's not teaching, Mrs. Mauhay loves theatre, baking, traveling, cooking, reading, and spending time with her husband, Jay.
