KidzSearch - even though there is no such thing as a totally safe search engine for kids, KidzSearch is pretty close. This search engine works hard to filter out websites that have words and content that students do not need to see. Something else that is wonderful is the "Keep Safe Online by Taking The "KidzSearch Safety Pledge"" section of the page. This would be wonderful for students to memorize and maybe recite to help them stay safe on the internet. There is also a set of 10 random facts on the website that is refreshed each time the page is refreshed.

InfOhio - is a digital library that "offers a variety of content and services to Ohio's 1.9 million PreK-12 students, their parents, and their teachers" (www.infohio.org). Students have access to journals, pictures, maps, videos, and many other resources For the most part, everything is free to use. This is a must have research tool.

Practice Typing
TypingPal - is an online platform that allows a personalized approach to learning keyboarding and typing skills. With the use of videos and games, students will practice proper typing strategies to increase their accuracy and speed while typing. This is a paid subscription that can be purchased for an individual or for an entire school. Teachers will get reports about where students are struggling and there are extra resources for more support. This is something I want to incorporate in my classroom. The only reason for loosing 1 star is because the prices aren't on the website- you have to get a quote.

Each subject is divided up into different grade levels so you can pick and choose what to work on. One of the things that I like is that even two students who are working on the same concept will not be given the same set of questions. So, this allows students to work near each other or help each other and they are both still doing their own work.
