Kindergarten Classroom Management Plan
We want to encourage positive behavior; we will use Class Dojo as a means of tracking this behavior at school. This is a means for students to receive instant rewards for their choices while on campus. We have a monthly Dojo Celebration as well as daily rewards (stickers, candy, coupons, praise). Students can earn positive Dojo points both as a class and independently in many ways by following rules and procedures such as staying on task, doing homework, participating, positive attitude, and having good behavior at lunch, recess, in the restroom and in the hallways. Students will receive a yellow Dojo point for problematic situations such as off task behavior, unsafe body, unkind words, interrupting, not listening, and poor hallway/restroom behavior. A clarifying message may be included as needed. Additional clarification about ongoing situations will be through email, notes sent home, or phone calls.
Class rules follow CFIE’s SOAR guidelines.
1) Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself.
2) Follow teacher directives.
3) Be quiet and orderly in line.
Failure to follow these rules will result in
1) a verbal warning.
2) Cool down time…separate from other classmates
3) Yellow (needs improvement) point
4) Parent contact and minor incident report (three minor offenses results in an office referral).
4) Office referral.
I have read and understood the classroom management plan as outlined by my child’s teacher. I was also given the opportunity to ask questions.
