Classroom Library

We are fortunate to have so many wonderful books & are always looking to expand our library! Rules for using our library are as follows:

1. Treat ALL books with respect!

2. Choose books that are at your reading level - use the five finger rule.

3. Follow all of the guidelines for checking books in and out.

4. Keep the library neat and organized by putting books and materials back where they came from. 

5. ASK if you would like to take a book home with you. 

Finding Your "Just Right" Book

Use the "Five Finger Rule." 

• Pick a page of your book to read. 

• Raise a finger for every word you do not know.

•  If you know almost every word - the book is too easy!

• If you don't know 2,3, or 4 words - the book is just right!

• If you don't know 5 or more words, the book is too hard.

Check online for the book's level

• Click HERE to go to Scholastic's Book Wizard 

• Type in your book by title, author, or keyword

• Choose to search by "Guided Reading" level - this should give you a LETTER
