I’m grateful to support early readers in the Los Gatos/Saratoga community with warm, evidence‑based instruction.
I’m Megan Avery, a TK–2 educator specializing in structured literacy and explicit phonics instruction. I’ve taught TK, Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade, and I’m passionate about helping young readers build strong, confident foundations. As a Saratoga native, I’m excited to support families in the Los Gatos/Saratoga community.
My Teaching Approach
I use structured literacy and explicit phonics instruction grounded in the Science of Reading. Lessons follow predictable routines with clear modeling, guided practice, and hands‑on application so children feel capable and successful. Instruction is warm, calm, and developmentally appropriate, giving early readers the confidence and mastery they need to grow.

I work with early‑elementary students who benefit from clear, systematic instruction and a nurturing learning environment. My programs are designed for:

Emergent Readers — learning letter–sound relationships and blending
