Union Park Counselor
Hello, Union Park Pioneers!
I am so excited to be part of the Union Park family as your school counselor! This will be my 20th year in education and my sixth year serving as the counselor at Union Park Elementary.
Before becoming a school counselor, I spent 14 years in the classroom teaching 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade, with most of those years in 5th grade. During that time, I also served in a variety of leadership roles, including supporting our administration team with curriculum development. One of my favorite traditions as a classroom teacher was partnering with a kindergarten class to promote reading, cooperative learning, and service to others.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas Woman's University and my Master of Education in School Counseling from Lamar University. I hold certifications in EC–4 and 4–8 Generalist, Special Education, ESL, Theater Arts, and EC–12 School Counseling.
I am honored to continue supporting the students, families, and staff at Union Park Elementary. My role is to help students grow academically, socially, and emotionally by providing individual support, small-group counseling, classroom guidance lessons, and resources for families. My goal is to help every Pioneer develop the skills and confidence they need to be successful both in school and beyond.
My door is always open. Whether a student needs someone to listen, encouragement through a challenge, or help developing new skills, I am here to support them every step of the way. Together, we can help every child grow into the very best version of themselves.
I am looking forward to another wonderful year at Union Park Elementary. It's going to be a fantastic year!
