Managing Feelings & Behavior

Unlike reading, math, and writing, emotional intelligence and emotional regulation are not traditionally taught as subjects in schools. However, without them learning becomes difficult if not impossible. It is necessary for children to be able to identify and regulate emotions in order to manage their reactions and responses both internally and externally.

On this resource page you will find tools to help you guide your child in identifying and managing feelings. If you have any questions or need guidance please do not hesitate to reach out by contacting Mrs. Stepanek HERE

EMOTIONAL REGULATION & BEHAVIOR

Behavior is communication, pure and simple.

Children use behavior to communicate their needs more dramatically than adults because they are still learning how to mange feelings, identify appropriate behaviors in certain circumstances, and understand how to use nonverbal and verbal behavior to effectively communicate their needs! The goal of this resource page is not to STOP behavior. Instead, you will find resources here to help you guide your child in mastering their responses to their emotions using strength-based and positive parenting approaches.
