"Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn."
– Benjamin Franklin
Young AmeriTowne is an exciting, hands-on learning experience for students in grades 3–5 that brings classroom lessons to life through real-world application. We use the Young AmeriTowne Fifth Grade published curriculum (https://yacenter.org/young-ameritowne/). In this program, we step into the roles of citizens, business owners, and community leaders to run our own simulated town, using math in fun, practical, and meaningful ways. As we earn, save, budget, and make decisions together, we build problem-solving, teamwork, and leadership skills while strengthening our confidence with numbers. Our learning all leads up to a culminating field trip in the spring, where we put everything we’ve practiced into action in an immersive, real-world setting. Young AmeriTowne is both educational and fun, helping us learn important life skills while giving parents confidence that we are growing academically in a supportive, engaging environment.
