Right now in math we are learning about volume.  Ask your child how to find volume (length x width x height).  We are learning how to decompose figures as well.  This is when you take a figure and split it into two rectangular prisms.  You can then find the volume of each individual prism then add them together to solve for the total volume of the figure.
