Mix It Up Day 2019 (Mustache Theme)
October 29 201935 awesome middle schoolers will be leaders at the lunch table on October 29th. They will help transform the cafeteria into a mixed up area, where students will set at colored tables based on random wristband colors. The leaders will conduct a conversation at the table to help promote acceptance and encourage new friendship.
Mix It Up Day 2018 (Neon Theme)
Students consistently identify the cafeteria as a place in their school where divisions are clearly—and harshly—drawn. So we ask students to move out of their comfort zones and connect with someone new over lunch. It’s a simple act with profound implications that we encourage educators to include in year-round efforts to promote healthy, welcoming school environments. Studies have shown that interactions across group lines can help reduce prejudice.
