My name is Mrs. Megan Barrick and I am honored to teach 6th grade English Language Arts and Social Studies at Palm Crest Elementary this year. This is my seventh year teaching and my first year as a proud PCR Panther. I grew up in La Canada and am delighted to be back, this time as part of the esteemed group of La Canada educators.

I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Studies at California State University Channel Islands and my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential as well as a Master's Degree in Education at University of California Santa Barbara.

My teaching philosophy boils down to a few key points:

1. All students can learn, but not all students learn at the same pace or in the same way.

2. A strong classroom community is full of mutual respect and a hunger for learning.

3. Intrinsic motivation is the greatest factor in student success.
