6th graders at Palm Crest Elementary use "Collections" by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt for reading, writing, and language instruction. In addition to reading and analyzing several fiction and nonfiction texts in class, students will be challenged to independently read 30 books this school year. Our two novel studies are: The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle, by Avi, and Where the Red Fern Grows, by Wilson Rawls.

6th graders at Palm Crest Elementary use "Reflections: Ancient Civilizations" by Harcourt School Publishers for social studies instrucion. Students will learn about several ancient civilizations throughout the year including Ancient Egypt, Ancient China, and Ancient Rome.
