Autism is something that I advocate for because I have a 4-year old niece who is autistic. She is now has her own speech tablet that she communicate with us. Watching her use this tablet to communicate is awesome. She can finally say mama. I can remember how I felt the first time I heard my children say mama. I was so excited. So I can only image how her mother felt when she heard her say mama. Autism is a big part of my family life.
This is a great video about Autism. The video talks about how the children are with Autism and it talks about what Autism is.
I want to show you a couple of videos about a girl named Carly Fleischmann. She is Autistic and can not speak, but that didn't stop her. She is an author, a blogger, and she interviews celebrities. She has also wrote and book about living with Autism. She has a couple of qoutes she always uses. The first one Carly says "I have Autism but Autism will not define me or will not define how I will live my life". Carly also says "Don't Just Dream Big Dream Huge".

Autism is defined by a certain set of behaviors and is a "spectrum disorder" that affects individuals differently and to varying degrees. There is no known single cause for Autism... As a teacher, there may be a chance that I will have a child with Autism in my classroom. I want them to feel like they are members of my class and made to feel like they are wanted. Below are some great websites!!!
