I am Mrs. Adams. I am on my 13th year of teaching. Prior to teaching, I was in the United States Navy where I worked as a Gunner’s Mate. I was in charge of the Vertical Launch System (missiles) and small arms weapons. After graduating college in 2013 with my BA in Elementary Education from Northern Kentucky University, I moved from Cincinnati, Ohio to Las Vegas, NV to start my teaching journey. In Vegas, I taught 3rd, and 5th grade. I met husband, Austen, out there and we decided to move to VA to be closer to my family after 7 years in Nevada.
I received my Master's Degree from Strayer University in Teacher Leadership in 2017, my Gifted endorsement from University of Virginia, and my ESOL (English as a second language) endorsement from George Mason University in 2026.
This is my 6th year at Leesylvania and I taught 4th and 5th before moving into Gifted last two years ago. I love learning new things and ways to help me be a better teacher and to make sure all students feel included and welcomed.
I met now husband, Austen out there and we decided to move to VA to be closer to my family.
I have 2 brothers and 4 nieces. I love getting to see them and spend time with my family. I enjoy hiking, canoeing, reading, trying new food places, and traveling. My husband, Austen, and I have been together for 10 years, and married for 4 and a half. I have a 15 year old dog, Chip. While I don't have any children of my own, I would do anything for my nieces and Chip!
