The Mike Rigby Ringing Centre at Lighthorne was formed early in 2023 to encourage and teach people to learn and to further their skills in the ancient art of church bell ringing.
We have three accredited ART (Association of Ringing Teachers) teachers who are supported by other experienced ringers and teachers.
Tuition
We hold 3 x 90 minute simulator session every Tuesday with two students per session to allow each student plenty of rope time. We also hold a 1 x 90 minute simulator session on the second and fourth Monday evening of each month.
Other simulator practises can be arranged for those unable to come along on a Tuesday.
There is a regular Thursday evening practise with open ringing from 7.15pm until 8.45pm
Students are encouraged to ring as often as they can at other towers to gain experience and progress their ringing and of course to enjoy ringing with others.
Cost
While we do not charge for ringing tuition, we do ask for a donation equivalent to £5 per hour. This is for a donation to the church and to cover ongoing costs such as heating and lighting, essential software and general bell maintenance.

Booking your ringing sessions at MRRC is very easy. We use an online booking system which receives your payment as you book your ringing session. See the booking tab at the top of the page to book your place.
You will receive a confirmation email of booking immediately and also a reminder of the session, the day before your session.
