Dr. Ghazanfar Ali - Assistant Professor

Dr. Ali completed his Ph.D. from UST in 2023. He is currently working at Gachon University as an Assistant Professor and working with MRlab as a research collaborator. His research topic primarily focuses on infusing emotional Intelligence into virtual humans in AR/MR scenarios by leveraging deep learning of human behavior. He is a research originator, system architect, and builder across multimodal agents, human motion, computer vision, grounded intelligence, and HCI. Throughout his career, he has worked at top research and academic institutions. He is an alumnus of MCJ, NUST, and LUMS in Pakistan, and UST and KIST in South Korea. Professionally, he has worked in Pakistan at Xetecx Solutions, TulipSol, Digital Penumbra, and UCP, and in South Korea at KIST, KAIST, SNU, and Gachon University.

HwangYoun Kim - Ph.D. Student (KIST School, UST)

Hwangyoun Kim completed a Master of Entertainment Technology (MET) degree at Carnegie Mellon University in 2015. He had work experience as a Unity developer in various fields such as educational games, avatar control systems, and health care applications. As a PhD student, he is interested in AI and Virtual Avatar for helping people who have various problems such as the difficulties of relationships, and emotional management.

Lee Jeong Ha completed his bachelor's in Art & Technology from Chung Ang University in 2023. In the spring of 2024, he came to KIST as a UST integrated program student and started working in the MR lab.

Sejun Yoon received his bachelor's degree in Art & Technology from Chung-Ang University in 2026. In September 2026, he joined the MR Lab at KIST as a student in the UST integrated M.S./Ph.D. program. His research interests include Extended Reality (XR), Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Vision, and Multimodal AI, with a particular focus on AI-driven human motion analysis and interactive systems.
