TOILET NEAR ME is a collaborative system with Google Maps to show the nearest toilet in your area.
We aim to collaborate with Google Maps, which will minimise the need for labour intensive technical work from our end, as Google Maps already has a great platform for helping people reach their destination.
According to our own survey, it’s safe to conclude that this cost-effective solution has been proven to be the desired way-out of public urination. This high percentage of desirability is due to the fact that every smartphone of urban residents is built with Google Maps inside, including yours, so you won’t need to worry about costing another data storage to use our platform. Also, instead of being a passive user, you will be able to add any new toilets which come up and rate them based on the indicators that we have curated to our best to accurately assess the quality of public toilets in India, and once you have achieved the certain cut-off value, your incentives will arrive in your inbox in no time.
Our platform has an interface that is totally familiar to you who use Google Maps often. First and foremost, make sure your GPS is active so that Google Maps will be able to locate your current location.
Once you open Google Maps app on your phone, simply head your fingertip towards this little button, the “Toilets Near Me” button.
Within just a few seconds, the location of all the public toilets near you will appear along with the ratings. We use blue with male symbol to mark toilets for male, pink with female symbols to mark toilets for female and green with disabled symbol to mark toilets for disabled, so you should be able to see what toilet it is for at a glance.
We also add practical filtering buttons to narrow down your search.
With this “List” button, you will be provided with basic information about each toilet, including the address, how far it is from your current location and that little “Direction” button to lead you to it if you don’t know how to get there.
If you wish to know the more detailed information about each toilet, simply click on one of the toilets like this. This interface will show you everything you need to know.
Now, after you finish using the toilet, you are expected to rate it. Simply poke the stars on the amount concordant to your evaluation, then it will lead you to another page allowing you to rate it more comprehensively.
Rate the toilet based on cleanliness, complete supplies/equipment, feminine hygiene, safety for women and access for disabled, which the combination of all of them give us feedback whether the toilet fits the standard for all groups, including the disabled, elderly and women who want safety when using a toilet.
