Experience

Through my time at Barberton City Schools, I have been actively involved in growing and working with Algebra I, Golf, and Ski Club. Below are just a few of the highlights.

A Shared Drive containing all materials for Algebra 1 state test materials, topics, and other materials. This Shared Drive is shared with all Algebra, Geometry, and Test Prep teachers. It gives easy access and a central organization spot for all materials. The materials in the Drive are constantly updated and growing.

In 2021, I created a sheet that tracks how many Aleks Topics students completed and shared it with the test prep teachers. The sheet would then be updated multiple times during the week, and a new sheet was created each week. Even into 2022, I still continued and assisted with this sheet.  This Google Sheet was extremely beneficial in communicating progress with the test prep teachers to ensure students were on task.

Developing calculator activities provide students with practice with the TI-84 calculators; they contain helpful tips and tricks they can use on the state test to save time and build confidence.

This growing Google Slide document contains every Algebra 1 State Test question that has ever been released, along with the answer, state standard, corresponding chapter, DOK level, and other information. The questions are all pulled from released questions, checkpoints, practice test, and the benchmark. Having all the questions on one document, with the labels and information, makes it easy for us, the Algebra 1 team, to pull and review questions. One use of that would be this year; we started putting a few released questions on each test.

Documenting and saving the questions from the Ohio Reset Readiness Portal Checkpoints, which have been a significant factor in improving our test scores.

Creating and documenting logs for the concession stand, which track every event, the products purchased, and the amount of product sold.

Organizing and managing the concession stand has not only been a significant source of income for ski club, but it also helps out various clubs and organizations at BHS.

This is only a tiny glimpse of what I have accomplished at Barberton City Schools. I have plenty of other ideas ahead, and I am looking forward to the future.
