Welcome Letter

Dear First Grade Families,

My name is Mr. Ferreira  and I will be your student's first grade teacher this school year.  I am very excited to meet all of you next week on the esplanade for our very first day of school on Tuesday, August 26th 2025.  What a wonderful year it is going to be learning and growing together!

If you haven’t already, please bookmark my classroom website. This is where you can find information regarding supplies that your student may need, upcoming events/announcements, along with updates on what we are working on throughout the school year.  

In the beginning of the school year, the first grade team will be working on our back-to-school bulletin board.  Please send in a photo, no larger than 4 by 6, of your student on the first day of school. In addition, please send your student in with a family photo they can keep in their cubby to help with the transition from home to school. 

Information about  lunch options will be available soon. Please check the Longmeadow Public School and Center School website where the menu will be posted. It is helpful if your student knows what he/she is eating each day and I appreciate your support with this daily routine. 

Please click on the supply list link on the left side of this page to see what supplies your student will need for the school year.  These are individual supplies that should be labeled with your student's name. Please send these supplies within the first few days of school. All other supplies will be provided by the school.
