Testing Procedures / Tips:
The math section of the A.C.T. allows 60 minutes for 60 questions so you need to average 1 minute per question.
The A.C.T. does not require you to clear your programs before you begin the test so you may have math programs in your calculator that could be helpful if you are familiar with them and know what they have to offer. Check out my calculator resource page to see where to get already made programs and how to transfer them to your calculator from your computer or from another calculator.
There is no penalty for guessing, so if you are running out of time at least put down an answer for each question.
Look through this conversion chart to see how many points out of 36 you would receive based on the number of questions you get correct.
Many questions can be worked out quickly if you are proficient with your calculator. Knowing calculator tricks for some questions allows you to speed up and speed more time on other questions.
Almost all of the math portion of the A.C.T. is taught during or before Algebra 2.
