The AP Exam has 4 sections:
Section 1: 30 multiple choice questions, 60 minutes. Calculator is not allowed.
Section 2: 15 multiple choice questions, 45 minutes. Calculator is allowed but probably only needed on a few of the 15 questions.
Section 3: 2 free response questions, 30 minutes. Calculator is allowed and will be needed for parts of these questions.
Section 4: 4 free response questions, 60 minutes. Calculator is not allowed.
Points:
Each multiple choice question is worth 1.2 points for a total of 54 points.
Each free response questions is worth 9 points for a total of 54 points.
The entire exam is 108 points. The cut off scores for a 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 change from year-to-year depending on the test difficulty.
