This applet tries to explain the notion behind the chain rule through discovery. If you work through the "explore" category, it may help you better understand the chain rule.
This has written out notes, 8 examples, and 96 practice questions with an answer key at the bottom. One thing that I like about this practice is that it has it in categories of basic, intermediate, challenge problems, and even some science questions. This way you can pick the level you are currently at.
