Woodcarving
Woodcarving - Introduction
Welcome. I hope things are going well for you. We'll continue to make progress in our woodcarving class despite the closure of our school. The plan is that we work daily for 20-30 minutes on the projects, four days per week. You are welcome to work more. I'm trying to find a time that works for most of you to meet through Zoom once a week to answer any pressing issues and check in with your progress. For now, the best way to get hold of me is through e-mail, jason.evans@fallscityschools.org.
Please note: while the website is accessible to anybody, handouts and other resources will require that you are logged into your school google account (as all of those files are being shared through the my Google Drive).
Thanks, Mr. Evans
When you have some time:
Doug Linker is a Youtuber that has created quite a following in the past couple years with his exploration of woodcarving. He's completed two series for people that are new to woodcarving; the most recent series has brought many people into the hobby of woodcarving. When you have time, please watch through the series.

Final Project - Mushroom (Take 2)
Your final project is to spend no more than two carving sessions (not to exceed 1 hour per session) to make another mushroom. When you are done, please complete the final reflection (click here). I'm encouraging some self-reflection in this activity.
There's a possibility that distance learning might exist in some form next year. I'm asking for some feedback in how to build a better learning experience for everyone. Please complete the feedback form (click here). I appreciate all feedback, thanks for your time, and there will be some bonus points in the gradebook for thoughtful responses.
Once you are done with these activities, please contact me (jason.evans@fallscityschools.org) to make arrangements to return your carving supplies.
