My name is Craig Kemp, and I am proud to serve as the Choral & Music Teacher at Triton Middle & High Schools. I hold a Masters in Music Education and have over 15 years of experience as a professional accompanist, and 5 years of experience as a Director of Liturgy & Music. Through extensive collegiate level study of piano, voice, and percussion, my musical experience in rooted in choral performance & vocal development; music theory, composition, & arranging; and secondary general music curriculum design. These experiences directly shape my teaching and allow me to support students across a wide range of musical pathways.
Prior to becoming a music teacher, I served as an infantry squad leader in the United States Army. As a combat veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom, my military service shaped my values of commitment and integrity, which I now apply to my teaching . Just as important, as a husband and father of two daughters, my family keeps me grounded in what matters most. In the classroom, I strive to bring this same balance of dedication, encouragement, and perspective that I am to live by every day.
With the recent alignment of Triton's Middle & High Schools' schedule, I am excited to provide focused attention and continuity to the secondary choral music experience. I also look forward to leveraging my experience and expertise in general music and music electives to encourage student ownership in shaping the future of Triton Arts.
My goal for the 2025-2026 school year is to increase internal and external community engagement through performance. At Triton, music is a space for creativity, collaboration, and growth—and I look forward to working with students, families, and colleagues to continue building a program where every voice matters.
