Must use your School Google Password. Enter the class word below for your class. We are only doing the Case Log. Do the stars only, not the feather ones. 



February 24-28:  Work on finishing the Slide Show for human body systems interactions.  Posted on Google Classroom.  We worked on this in class before vacation.  Due Friday, February 28. We will be working with DNA model Kits in class from Monday-Wednesday. 
Tuesday, February 25 Homework: Finish coloring in the DNA model on paper. Study where these parts are in the DNA molecule: deoxyribose, phosphate, hydrogen bond, the bases: adenine, thymine, cytosine, guanine. 

Thursday Lab: Extracting Strawberry DNA using simple method.

We will use this video to dissect the Sheep Heart the week of Jan. 13-17. Click Here (Start at 2:45 minute mark with your dissection) Cover your computer screen with plastic wrap. 


The 3D Heart Project:  The Pathway of a red blood cell:The red blood cell starts in left atrium, goes through a valve(mitral valve) and enters left ventricle, then through a valve(aortic valve) and enters aorta, then goes to some cells in the body and gives some oxygen to them/takes in carbon dioxide, then goes back to heart and enters the right atrium, goes through a valve(tricuspid valve) and enters the right ventricle, goes through a valve(pulmonary valve) and enters the pulmonary artery and travels to the lungs, then gets more oxygen/released carbon dioxide and travels via the pulmonary veins and enters the left atrium.  This Little red blood cell will do this about 1,000 times each day for 100-120 days until its life is over. 

Due Tuesday, Jan. 14: We started watching the Classic film called: "Hemo the Magnificient": Click Here (Might have to click twice to get it to play at school). Start at 5:00 minute mark and stop at the 48:00 minute mark. Fill in the answers to questions that go with the video.

Due Thursday, Jan. 9: Read Chapter 16, Lesson 2 about Circulatory System. Fill in the Lesson Outline which was handed out in class but also could be accessed in the online textbook(chapter resources page 29 and 30, the green button).

Friday, Nov. 22: Human Skeleton Bone Names Assessment

Thursday, Nov. 21: Optional: Student says all the bone names, while pointing to them, in front of the class in less than 1 minute.  You could get a grade of 105.   

Wednesday, Nov. 20: Video: Eyewitness Human Machine Questions are Due and Screenshot of Virtual Owl Pellet Dissection Congratulations Page.  This is the page that has the time it took you after you completed the task.  

Thursday, Nov. 14: Egg Experiment Document with Graph is due.  

Thursday, Nov. 7: Cell Processes Vocabulary Assessment: Diffusion, Osmosis, Active Transport, Endocytosis, Exocytosis, Facilitated Diffusion using carrier proteins, Facilitated Diffusion using Channel Proteins.  Study the shared picture dictionary document and the Quizlet I posted on Tuesday. 

Thursday, Oct. 24: Cell Parts Assessment.  Study the function and the analogies that your group came up with.  Google Forms Assessment. Study the picture dictionary you made, the pink paper, the cell coloring worksheet.  Also, I posted a Quizlet in Google Classroom to help you study the functions and spelling.  

Friday Oct. 18: Playdough due today.  Use my recipe or use one from the internet.  If you require the use of the stove, ask your parents first before using this recipe.  

Wednesday, 16: Assessment on Characteristics of Living Organisms.  Study the Picture Dictionary and the matching game(worksheet handed out in class on Friday, Oct. 11), and finish watching Eyewitness:Life video you started in class on Tuesday, Oct. 15.  

Due October 10 at 8:00PM (Assigned on Monday, Oct. 7):  Picture Dictionary for the characteristics of all living organisms.   Directions posted on Google Classroom, classwork section.  

Study the characteristics of living things for a quiz the week of Oct. 15-18.  I will update you in class about this.  This is a change from what was here before.  Study your picture dictionary you made.  That is your study guide.  An example of a characteristics of living things is all living things are made of CELLS.  Cells are the basic unit of life.  This is just one of many common characteristics.    

October 3: Quiz on Microscope Parts. Study the parts using the online practice website below and the worksheet in class with the picture of the actual microscope we use in class. Microscope parts online practice: MICROSCOPE PARTS

Due by Thursday, Sept. 26:  Bring in 5 items no thicker than a quarter to look at under our microscopes. They should be translucent(some light can travel through object) or transparent(like clear plastic).
