[Speaker 1 Saim EMIN]

Saim Emin received his PhD (2010) in the field of chemistry from Saitama University, Japan. Later, he joined the Advanced Photovoltaic Center at the National Institute for Materials Science, Japan. In 2012 Dr. Emin was awarded with a Marie-Curie Career Integration Grant funded by University of Nova Gorica, Slovenia. He has been a chair in many conferences including the conference series entitled "International Conference on Functional Nanomaterials and Nanodevices". Dr. Emin has co-authored more than 40 publications in peer-reviewed international journals and has given talks at more than 25 international conferences.

[Speaker 2 Mohamed KSIBI]

Mohamed Ksibi, completed his Ph.D. in 1993 in Applied Chemistry at the University of Poitiers, France. He also gained the Habilitation (HDR) in Chemistry from the University of Sfax, Tunisia in 2003. He was appointed as a full Professor of Chemistry in 2009 at the Higher Institute of Biotechnology of Sfax (ISBS). His areas of research interest include removal and toxicology assessment of persistent organic pollutants in the environment (water and sediment/soil). He has supervised 13 thesis to completion and examined a further 4 PhDs. He has also supervised 15 MSc. thesis. He has co-published about 104 papers, 8 book chapters and co-edited 3 books: Recent Advances in Environmental Science from the Euro-Mediterranean and Surrounding Regions (1st Edition 2017, 2 volumes) (2nd Edition 2019, 3 volumes) and Water-Energy-Nexus in the Ecological Transition, 1st ed. 2022. Natural-Based Solutions, Advanced Technologies and Best Practices for Environmental Sustainability Advances in Science, Technology & Innovation Series. He is the co-Editor-in-Chief of the Euro-Mediterranean Journal of Environmental Integration (h-index 27). Dr. Ksibi had been the Institute’s Deputy Director of the ISBS from August 2011 until December 2017, he served as the Director of the Department of Biotechnology and Health at ISBS from May 2008 until May 2011. He has also been the chairman for the 1st in 2017, the 2nd in 2019, the 3rd in 2021 and the 4th in 2022 of the  Euro-Mediterranean Conference for Environmental Integration (https://www.emcei.net).

[Speaker 3 Artem BADASYAN]

Artem Badasyan received his PhD (2005) in Physics from Physics Faculty, Yerevan State University, Armenia. During the years of 2005-2011 he was a Postdoctoral Researcher at Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto, Canada, Dept. of Chemical Physics, University Ca`Foscari in Venice, Italy and Theoretical Physics section, Institute Jozef Stefan, Slovenia. In 2005-2006 he had a status of Adjunct scientist with the National Institutes of Health, Maryland, US. From 2011 on, dr. Badasyan is affiliated with the School of Science, University of Nova Gorica, Slovenia, as Assistant Professor, and from 2020 on as an Associate Professor. From 2022 on dr. Badasyan is also a PI and a Group Leader at the Institute of Chemical Physics, Armenian Academy of Sciences, Armenia. His main area of expertise is Soft Condensed Matter Physics and its applications to Polymer Physics and Biophysics. His portfolio of teaching activities includes more than 10 subjects in Math, Physics and Computer Science and active supervision of students at all levels. Dr. Badasyan has co-authored about 40 publications in peer-reviewed journals and has given talks at more than 30 international conferences. He serves as an active referee for many journals, and is a member of several Editorial Boards.

[Speaker 4 Walid ELFALLEH]

Dr. Walid Elfalleh obtained his bachelor’s degree in biological sciences from High Institute of Biotechnology of Monastir (ISBM), University of Monastir, Tunisia. The Master’s degree, in Genetics and Bioresources from Faculty of Sciences of Tunis (FST), University of Tunis El-Manar, Tunisia. Also, he obtained his PhD, Biochemistry from the from Faculty of Sciences of Tunis. He has been teaching in Tunisian universities since 2006 and since 2018 He is Associate Professor at Higher Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology of Gabes (ISSATGb), University Gabes, Tunisia. Currently he is the Director of Internships & Deputy Director of ISSATGb. His research focuses on plant valorization for medicinal and food applications. Currently working on the extraction, separation, and chromatographic identification of bioactive molecules of industrial interests. Furthermore, he interested in the optimizations of the extraction methods of bioactive molecules and the elucidation of their biological activities in vivo and in vitro (antioxidant, antimicrobial, anticarcinogenic, and cytotoxic effects). He is the author of more than 150 papers in international peer-reviewed journals.

[Speaker 5 Rim BEN ARFI]

Dr. Rim BEN ARFI is a charter member of the Advanced Materials, Applied Mechanics, Innovative Processes, and Environment Research Unit, as well as the Tunisian Rheology Society (since 2022). She is also a member of the doctoral committee in Mechanical and Energy Engineering (since 2023). Dr. Rim BEN ARFI obtained her M.Sc. in Processes and Materials Engineering in 2003 and her Ph.D. in Chemistry of Materials in 2007 from the University of Haute Alsace –Mulhouse – France. In 2008, she was hired as an Assistant Professor and was later promoted to Associate Professor in Materials Science in 2022 at the National Engineering School of Gabes, University of Gabes - Tunisia. Her research focuses on wastewater treatment, biopolymers, eco-materials, and bio-composites for environmental applications, physico-chemical characterizations of materials, and mechanical and rheological behavior of materials. Dr. Rim BEN ARFI has authored and co-authored over 40 scientific papers, including peer-reviewed papers, peer-reviewed conference proceedings, books, and book chapters. She has also coordinated research projects as a principal investigator or investigator, which were financed by national or international funds, such as the Youth Research Incentive project (PEJC2018), the Federated Research project, and the Indo-Tunisian joint project. In addition, Dr. Rim BEN ARFI serves as a peer reviewer for several journals, including the Euro-Mediterranean Journal for Environmental Integration and Advances in Materials Science and Engineering.

[Speaker 6 Adel ZRELLI]

Adel ZRELLI is an Assistant Professor at the Higher Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology of Gabes (ISSAT) in Tunisia. He received his Ph.D. from the National Engineering School of Gabes, Tunisia, and his research is primarily focused on Membrane distillation, Membrane preparation, the Valorization of biomass, and Solar energy. Adel has had the opportunity to hold several notable positions in academia, including Director of the Department of Industrial Chemistry and Processes at the Higher Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology of Gabes-Tunisia, where he served from September 2013 until December 2020. In addition, he is a member of the international program committee of The International Renewable Energy Congress (IREC) since 2014. Adel's expertise is highly valued in the academic community, as he serves as a peer reviewer for several high-impact journals, including Desalination, Chemical Engineering Journal, Water Research, Desalination and Water Treatment Journal, Journal of Membrane Science and Research, and many more. He is also a member of the African Membrane Society and serves on the editorial board of the Engineering and Technology Journal (ETJ), where he contributes his valuable expertise to the development of the journal's objectives.
