Fall 2001- Fall 2003
This 2 year program was comprised of coursework in patient care, patient positioning for radiographic images, radiation physics, pathology, and medical terminology. It included clinical rotations at 4 hospital sites in various settings including pediatrics and trauma.
Experience
Operate stationary fluoroscopic c-arm equipment, including bi-plane and dyna computed tomography (CT). Assist the Radiologist during minimally invasive procedures under a sterile environment including assembling a sterile tray, positioning, and prepping the patient for the procedure. Post procedure responsibilities include archiving images to picture archiving and communication systems (PACS), patient charges, and room turnover.
Provided quality diagnostic radiographic images with the use of mobile and fluoroscopic c-arm equipment in the operating room. As charge technologist I supplied c-arms to rooms as requested and delegated other technologists to operate equipment and assist surgeons.
As an assistant my responsibilities included scheduling and sending for patients to come down for their x-rays. Assist the technologist with lifting help, running films, and completing paper work.
