Mozaik Closet Library
A Product Library is included with Mozaik for closet design and fabrication. There is no change to the standard operation of Mozaik for closets, it is simply another subset of what the software does. Designing, editing, nesting, manufacturing is the same - you are simply using a different library.
Because closets are component based, we have included a more detailed library with your initial installation. This library may be used in conjunction with the Custom Cabinet Library (face frame cabinets) and the Frameless Library.
The Mozaik Closet Library has been set up for nested based manufacturing on a CNC Router to maximize material yield for flat panel processing and minimize secondary operations.
Mozaik Closet Library Notes
- Depths in the Mozaik Closet Library have been set to 11 3/4, 14 3/4, and 17 3/4 inches. Items are labeled as 12, 15, 18 in the library for labeling.
- Closet items are designed to use the Wall Height minus the Sofft Height on the Room Tab. For example, if you set your Wall Height to 96" and your Soffet to 12", the Vertical panels will be 84" automatically.
- 90 Degree Corner Units are supplied with Ends attached for manufacturing purposes.
- Columns are line bored automatically The linebore is facing the interior of these parts - assemble with linebore facing outward as required.
- Fluted Columns and Pilasters will be displayed in Sketchup as white. Simply click on an end panel and fill the parts with the same color. Click on the Paint Bucket, click on the eyedropper to select the color, then click on the object and click the paint bucket again to fill. (This is a limitation of Sketchup).
- Mozaik requires you to place your end panels according to the correct position in the layout.
- Place Left / Right Panels on the end of runs accordingly. This will enable proper layout of molding as well as proper layout of CNC Operations.
- Place Mid Panels between sections.
- The Mozaik Closet Library is setup to linebore all vertical panels automatically - referencing the holes from the top of the panel. Mid Panel are through bored such that shelves holes are available on both sides. KD Fastener holes will be bored as required by adjacent items.
- The Mozaik Closet Library is setup to assemble the closet components onsite using Rafix KD Fasteners. Operations for the KD Fasteners are automatically transferred to the End Panels from adjacent components.
Closet Layout Tips
There are several built-in tools within Mozaik that will assist in fast & easy closet layout.
Work in Plan or Elevation View
Some things are easier to place in plan view while others are easier to place in elevation. Click the proper icon on the sidebar to switch between Plan and Elevation.
Size and Position Menu
Click on an item in plan or elevation, the Item Menu will appear below.
Enter information as needed to change the size and placement of the item.
If Width, Height, Depth is grayed out, it means the size cannot be changed. You can still override the setting and make the change by selected in the Edit button and making your change on the Size Tab in the Product Editor.
Units will snap to the Soffet line, when placed click on the item and change the elevation accordingly. This is very helpful when placing cubbies, individual shelves, and other inserts like pant racks, tie racks, etc...
Item Selector
If you have multiple items within the same horizontal space, use the Item Selector Dropdown to select the item you need.
Bump Left - Bump Right
Verticals are automatically placed in the left most position of the opening. Click on the item and select the Left/Right button to bump it to the opposite side of the opening.
Center Button
Click on the Center button to center the selected item between the two adjacent items.
Stretch to Fit Button
Automatically stretches the selected item to fill the space between the two adjacent items.
