*MOVE THE BUTTE PARTICIPATION POLICY*
Move the Butte is an adult community dance production that welcomes participants aged 18 and older who have completed high school (or the equivalent) by the time registration opens. Every year, registration begins in October.
We are a vibrant community dance production showcasing a diverse range of dance genres, open to all styles of dance and welcome to all adults, regardless of experience or skill level. Whether you are a complete beginner or have professional training, Move the Butte is an inclusive space where everyone is appreciated and encouraged to participate.
Why The Participation Policy Exists:
Move the Butte is designed as an adult performance environment that provides space for creative exploration, expression, and community among adults. Because we regularly receive far more interest than available performance slots, clear eligibility guidelines help us maintain fairness and consistency for all adult participants.
This policy also ensures an environment that feels comfortable and appropriate for adult artists, while maintaining equity among younger community members who are still completing high school.
We deeply value the enthusiasm and talent of younger dancers in our community, and encourage high school students to stay engaged through the School of Dance programs and other youth performance opportunities until they become eligible for Move the Butte participation.
