Vassiliki A Demetracopoulou and Byung Gi Han presented their work at the 2022 CRC Conference, Arlington, Virginia.
Byung Gi’s work focused on analyzing current schedule management provisions stipulated in the WASHTO DOT’s Standard Specifications to address gaps among the DOTs
Vassiliki's work entitled "Dimensions of Innovation in Project Delivery Method Selection for Highway Projects" presented a new approach to evaluating project innovation during delivery method selection for highway projects by differentiating inherent project characteristics and exogenous innovation opportunities.
Dr. William O’Brien is an AAAS Science and Technology Policy Fellow for 2021-2022, joining the US Dept of Energy Building Technologies Office in its effort to reduce building energy usage. Specifically, O’Brien is supporting the Advanced Building Construction initiative, which seeks to decrease the cost and increase the adoption of energy efficient technologies in new and existing homes and buildings.
Chirag presented his work on "Assessing Social Equity in Highway Asset Management Plans" at the i3CE2021 workshop in Orlando, Florida. The study explored different numerical approaches and visualization techniques to systematically evaluate levels of social equity in the road network. The representations of the study expanded the use of quantitative metrics of social equity to support decision-making for infrastructure.
Dr. William O’Brien has received the ASCE Computing in Civil Engineering Award, recognizing his leadership in linking science, public policy, and the construction industry to drive technology development and progress. (See more)
Recognizing his contributions to the adoption of Advanced Work Packaging, the National Academy of Construction elected Dr. O’Brien as a member in 2020.
MOVE members Vassilina Demetracopoulou, Byung Gi Han, Chirag Kothari presented their work at the Center for Transportation Research (CTR) symposium.
Vassilina presented the Alternative Delivery System (ADS) Decision-Support Tool V2.0, a delivery method selection tool customized for TxDOT.
Byung Han showcased his work on developing assessment criteria for state DOTs’ standard specifications on contractor schedules.
Chirag presented a cross-functional planning tool for TxDOT for integrating construction and maintenance project plans.
