July 2025 season .....
Moving towards the North, one comes upon the district of Vojvodina. Here lie the fields of Pannonia, with its vineyards as well as corn and wheat plantations. Fertile fields of Plum-trees, Apricots and Quince offer the locals the means to produce their traditional drink, Rakija. One of the constituents of Vojvodina, is Srem (or Syrmia) where the village Martinci is located. It is a mostly traditional village yet untouched by tourism with a population of roughly 3500 inhabitants.
The first report of the area can be found in the annals of the Roman Empire, around the year 200 B.C., placing the birth of the emperor Decije Trajan in the vicinity. The area at the time was known as Budalija.
