By downloading, installing, or using MotionEyeOS Client ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not download or use the App.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and the developer of MotionEyeOS Client ("we", "us", or "our").
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to:
Download and install the App on devices you own or control
Use the App for your personal, non-commercial purposes
This license does not include the right to sublicense, sell, resell, redistribute, or create derivative works based on the App.
MotionEyeOS Client is a mobile client application that allows you to connect to and view live video feeds from your self-hosted MotionEyeOS security camera system. The App facilitates connections to cameras that you own and operate on your own private network or remote server.
The free version of the App is supported by advertising and is limited to a maximum of 2 camera connections.
We offer optional auto-renewing subscriptions:
Monthly Plan — billed monthly
Yearly Plan — billed annually
Premium subscribers receive:
Unlimited camera connections
An ad-free experience
Access to additional premium features as they become available
Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase.
Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
You can manage and cancel your subscription at any time in your device's App Store or Google Play account settings.
No refund is provided for the unused portion of any subscription period, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
If a free trial is offered, unused portions of a free trial period will be forfeited upon purchasing a subscription.
If you have previously purchased a subscription and reinstall the App or use a new device, you may restore your purchase using the "Restore Purchases" feature within the App. Purchases are associated with your Apple ID or Google Play account.
You are solely responsible for:
The security camera system(s) you connect to via the App
Ensuring you have the legal right to access and monitor the cameras you connect to
Maintaining the security of your camera system credentials
Compliance with all applicable laws relating to surveillance and video recording in your jurisdiction
You must comply with all applicable laws regarding video surveillance. Recording or monitoring individuals without their knowledge or consent may be illegal in your jurisdiction. Use the App responsibly and lawfully.
You agree not to use the App to:
Monitor individuals without their consent in violation of applicable law
Gain unauthorised access to any camera systems or networks
Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any portion of the App
Remove or obscure any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices
Use the App for any unlawful, harmful, or fraudulent purpose
The App, including its design, code, logo, and content, is owned by us and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, modify, or distribute any part of the App without our prior written consent.
MotionEyeOS is a separate open-source project. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially connected to the MotionEyeOS project. Our App is an independent third-party client.
Our use of your information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
Fitness for a particular purpose
Uninterrupted or error-free operation
Compatibility with all devices or camera systems
Accuracy or reliability of camera feed content
We do not warrant that the App will meet your requirements or that any defects will be corrected.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:
Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
Loss of data, revenue, profits, or goodwill
Damages arising from your use of or inability to use the App
Damages arising from unauthorised access to your camera system
IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR A SUBSCRIPTION IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR £10 (GBP), WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
The App integrates with third-party services including Google AdMob and the Apple App Store / Google Play Store. Your use of those services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of any third-party services.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the App (or any features) at any time without notice. We are not liable to you or any third party for any such modification, suspension, or discontinuation.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. We will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document when changes are made.
We reserve the right to terminate your access to the App at any time if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your license to use the App is revoked and you must delete all copies of the App from your devices.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
