Welcome to MotionEyeOS Client ("the App", "we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you use our mobile application available on iOS and Android.
By downloading or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
When you use the App, you may provide:
Camera Connection Details — host addresses, port numbers, connection paths, and connection names you enter to connect to your MotionEyeOS cameras.
Authentication Credentials — optional username and password for HTTP Basic Authentication to your cameras.
Important: All authentication credentials are stored exclusively on your device using industry-standard encrypted secure storage (FlutterSecureStorage). They are never transmitted to our servers or any third party.
We do not collect:
Camera footage or live video streams
Personal identifiers (name, email, phone number)
Location data
Browsing history
Any data that is uploaded to our servers
The camera connection details you enter are used solely to:
Connect your device to your MotionEyeOS cameras
Display your live camera feeds within the App
Remember your saved connections for future use (stored only on your device)
We do not sell, share, or otherwise disclose your connection data to any third party.
The free version of the App displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob. Google AdMob may collect certain information to serve relevant ads, which may include:
Device identifiers (e.g., Advertising ID)
Approximate location (derived from IP address)
App usage and interaction data
All ads served through the App use non-personalized ad settings, meaning we request that AdMob does not use your data for personalised advertising.

Premium subscribers do not see advertisements.
The App offers optional monthly and yearly subscriptions via Apple's App Store and Google Play. When you make a purchase:
Payment is processed entirely by Apple or Google — we do not handle or store your payment information.
A record of your subscription status is stored locally on your device to enable ad-free functionality.
Apple and Google's privacy policies apply to all payment transactions.

We do not operate servers that store your personal information. Accordingly, there is no risk of a server-side data breach affecting your information.

Your MotionEyeOS camera system is self-hosted on your own hardware. We have no access to or control over the data it processes.
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or 16 in certain jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
Depending on your location, you may have rights including:
Access — You may request a copy of any personal data we hold about you.
Deletion — You may delete all App data by uninstalling the App or clearing the App's data in your device settings.
Opt-out of personalised ads — You can reset your Advertising ID or opt out of personalised ads in your device settings.
Since we store no data on our own servers, all data deletion can be performed directly on your device.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
