☀️ One summer afternoon in a statistics class…

Two second-year doctoral students—one from China, one from the U.S.—were paired for a group project.

When it came time to schedule meetings, only they preferred 8:30am.

Why? Because that’s when their preschoolers had just been dropped off.

It was the only time the world was still and quiet enough to think.

That early-morning meeting became a ritual.

Through coursework, fieldwork, motherhood, and milestones, they showed up for each other—again and again.

Three years later, the two award winning emerging scholars crossed the graduation stage together—children in hand—doctors at last.

🎙️ Solidarity in Action is their offering:

A podcast rooted in the lives of motherscholars from historically marginalized racial groups. Debuting Summer 2025.

A space for storytelling, truth-telling, and building together.

This is research made visible. This is community care.

And this is just the beginning. We think the world needs this kind of solidarity.
