Glendale Orchard
Hey neighbors—let’s grow something together! We’re creating a new fruit and berry orchard in Glendale Park with help from Backyard Abundance, and your input is essential. Thank you for the City of Iowa City PIN grant for supporting this initiative. Stay tuned for more announcements about how to get involved as we plan to plant the fruit trees in Spring 2026

We have yard signs promoting the neighborhood, thanks to the City of Iowa City’s Neighborhood Outreach Services. Neighborhood Quarterly Social Gathering! We enjoyed pizza and popsicles on Father's Day at Glendale Park while sharing neighborhood updates and plans for the year ahread.

In collaboration with Backyard Abundance, we hosted a free workshop and neighborhood conversation on transforming outdoor spaces and yards into thriving, resilient, and low-maintenance landscapes. Special thanks to Fred Meyer, Jen Kardos, and other Backyard Abundance facilitators for facilitating this stellar event. Thank you also to Linda and Linda from 100 Grannies for sharing about the Good Neighbor program. This event was supported through a City of Iowa City PIN grant.

Mobile Workshop 2! Funded in part by the AARP Challenge Grant with support from Plan + Place.
We are thrilled to share that our neighborhood association is a collaborator on a 2024 #AARPCommunityChallenge Grant in partnership with a non-profit, Plan + Place! Thank you to AARP Livable Communities and AARP Iowa for selecting us. We conducted two mobile workshops focused on walkability and civic engagement in the neighborhood.
