Neighborhood Quarterly Social Gathering! We enjoyed pizza and popsicles on Father's Day at Glendale Park while sharing neighborhood updates and plans for the year ahead.
In collaboration with Backyard Abundance, we hosted a free workshop and neighborhood conversation on transforming outdoor spaces and yards into thriving, resilient, and low-maintenance landscapes. Special thanks to Fred Meyer, Jen Kardos, and other Backyard Abundance facilitators for facilitating this stellar event. Thank you also to Linda and Linda from 100 Grannies for sharing about the Good Neighbor program. This event was supported through a City of Iowa City PIN grant.
Check out this great article from the Cedar Rapids Gazette that highlights this event along with a subsequent seed share hosted by Jen Kardos.
Mobile Workshop 2! Funded in part by the AARP Challenge Grant with support from Plan + Place.
We are thrilled to share that our neighborhood association is a collaborator on a 2024 #AARPCommunityChallenge Grant in partnership with a non-profit, Plan + Place! Thank you to AARP Livable Communities and AARP Iowa for selecting us. We conducted two mobile workshops focused on walkability and civic engagement in the neighborhood.
