January 2020, A terrible tragedy hit Australia as increasing bushfires scorched the land. Lots of people came together with donations; monetary and even supplies. I got a link sent to me by one of my Facebook friends that there was a group on Facebook surfacing that aimed to help the people and especially the animals that were affected by these fires. The group is called the Rescue Craft Co: https://www.facebook.com/groups/rescuecraftco You have to join the page to access it. They make things like joey pouches, swaddles, bird nests, hanging bags, etc. Being that I crochet and I really was affected by the images of the animals, I thought that it was my opportunity to do something about it. I worked on these bird nests and sent them to a local hub that sends stuff to Australia. It was a rewarding experience to help and I'll hold that dear to my heart. I do intend on doing more projects like this in the future cause I believe that being the change can make the difference.
