Morgan Heckman
I'm a PhD candidate in Dr. Christine Payne's lab studying how nanomaterials interact with biological systems from protein serums to bacterial and mammalian cells. I have a particular interest in bacterial membrane potential's response to external stimuli, as well as the impact of nanomaterials on the lungs - specifically titanium dioxide nanoparticles.
In addition to my graduate studies I also serve as a mentor to undergraduate and high school students within the Payne Lab, and have been a Teaching Assistant for materials science and introductory coding courses for undergraduates in the Pratt School of Engineering.
