Plane/Train to Innsbruck:

Flying into Innsbruck is convenient and during winter there are fairly good connections from Amsterdam and London to Innsbruck. The other closest major airports are Munich and Zurich.

An airport bus (line 'F') connects the airport to the main station ('Hauptbahnhof') (every 20min, bus plan can be found here). The bus stop at the airport is located directly in front of the airport building, tickets are available at the ticket machine outside of the airport (2,60€).

There are also night train connections including Amsterdam-Innsbruck and Hamburg-Innsbruck.

Public transport to Obergurgl:

To reach the University Center Obergurgl, take the train to the Ötztal railway station (Ötztal Bahnhof). There you can get a bus to Obergurgl.

From Innsbruck train station it is a 35min ride (direct with REX-Railjet every 30-50min), from Munich train station a 2h ride (change in Innsbruck station, every 2h) and from Zurich a 3h ride (direct with REX-Railjet, every 2h) to Ötztal Bahnhof.

From Ötztal Bahnhof it is a 90m bus ride (No. 8352 or 4194) to Obergurgl Center (Obergurgl Zentrum, last station). You can find the bus plan here.

You can buy an integrated ticket (train+bus) and check the time plan e.g. Innsbruck/Zurich/Munich to Obergurgl at the Austrian Rail Service: www.oebb.at
