When you use Mooters, we collect information to provide and improve our services:
• Account Information: Your Google account email, display name, profile picture, and birthday when you sign up.
• Profile Information: Username, display name, bio, and profile pictures you choose to share.
• Content You Create: Posts, stories, comments, reposts, and direct messages you share on the platform.
• Social Connections: Who you follow, who follows you, and users you block.
• Usage Information: How you interact with the app, including posts you view, like, comment on, or repost.
• Device Information: Device type, operating system, and app version for troubleshooting and optimization.
• Subscription Information: If you subscribe to Premium, we process payment information through Google Play.
2. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
We use your information to:
• Provide and maintain the Mooters service
• Display your posts and stories to your followers
• Enable direct messaging between users
• Send you notifications about likes, comments, follows, and messages
• Personalize your feed based on who you follow
• Process Premium subscriptions and provide premium features
• Improve and develop new features
• Ensure safety and security of our platform
• Filter inappropriate content using our profanity filter
3. INFORMATION SHARING
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information:
• With other users as part of normal app functionality (posts, stories, comments, profile info)
• Your stories are visible to your followers for up to 48 hours
• With service providers who help us operate the app (Firebase, Google)
• If required by law or to protect safety
4. DATA SECURITY
We implement security measures to protect your information, including:
• Encrypted data transmission
• Secure authentication through Google Sign-In
• Secure storage on Firebase infrastructure
• Regular security updates
5. YOUR CHOICES
You can:
• Control who sees your content by managing your followers
• Block users you don't want to interact with
• Control notification preferences in Settings
• Manage message requests from non-followers
• Delete your posts, stories, and comments
• Delete your account and all associated data at any time
6. DATA RETENTION
• Posts and comments are retained until you delete them
• Stories automatically expire after 6-48 hours
• Direct messages are retained until you delete the conversation
• Account data is deleted when you delete your account
7. DATA DELETION
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time:
• In-App: Go to Settings > Account > Delete Account
• Email Request: Send a deletion request to support@mooters.app with your account email
We will process deletion requests within 30 days. Some data may be retained for legal compliance.
8. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
Mooters is intended for users 13 years and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
9. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app.
